Asphalt Resurfacing Sydney

Hot mix car parks, driveways, and private roads across Greater Sydney and the Central Coast

Asphalt resurfacing Sydney work for us is a new hot mix wearing course over a pavement that still has a base worth keeping. Apartment car parks, shared driveways, private roads, and access lanes that have cracked, rutted, or started holding water. We check the base, the falls, and the drains before anyone orders mix. If the base has failed, a resurface is the wrong job and we say so. The crew is based in Daceyville. We inspect, then we quote.

Asphalt Resurfacing – Elite Demolition & Excavation Sydney & Central Coast

What we offer

Driveway resurfacing

Hot mix over a cracked or patched asphalt driveway, including shared apartment driveways where residents still need a way in and out.

Private and access road resurfacing

Private roads, estate roads, and access lanes that have worn through, rutted, or started holding water.

Asphalt patching and pothole repair

Cut out the failed section, rebuild the base, tack, and fill with hot mix so the repair stays put.

Tight access resurfacing

Narrow driveways and walled car parks where a skid steer feeds the asphalt box and the edges are laid and compacted by hand.

How a hot mix resurface runs

  1. 01

    Site check

We look at the cracks, ruts, and patches, test where the base is soft, and note where the water runs so the new surface still drains to the pits.

  2. 02

    Close off the area

Barriers and signs go up so residents, cars, and people on foot stay clear of the plant. On a shared driveway we plan access around the building.

  3. 03

    Prep and repair

Loose stones, dust, and silt are swept off. Soft or broken sections are dug out and rebuilt with compacted road base so the new asphalt has something solid to sit on.

  4. 04

    Tack coat

A thin sprayed bitumen emulsion goes down on the clean surface. It is the glue between the old pavement and the new layer.

  5. 05

    Lay the hot mix

The mix comes from the plant hot, usually between 140 and 160 degrees. A paver or an asphalt box spreads it to thickness, and the crew rakes the edges and tight spots by hand.

  6. 06

    Roll and compact

Rollers follow straight behind while the mix is hot: steel drum passes for density, then finishing passes to take out the marks before it cools too far to compact.

  7. 07

    Cure, mark, and hand back

The new surface cools before traffic or paint goes on it, usually around a day. Then line marking, a final check on the falls, and the car park or driveway goes back into use.

How Elite keeps a resurface clean and safe

These are the controls we actually use. We do not publish a rate per square metre, a mix design we have not quoted, or a job count.

No guess from the kerb

Photos help. A site look confirms the base, the falls, and the access before anyone orders mix.

Base before asphalt

Soft spots are repaired first. New asphalt over a failed base just copies the failure.

Work area closed off

Barriers and signs keep people and cars away from hot mix, rollers, and trucks.

Drainage checked

Falls are checked before and after, so water runs to the pits instead of sitting on the new surface.

Cure before traffic

Cars and line marking wait until the surface has cooled. Driving on soft asphalt leaves ruts on day one.

Inspect, then quote

There is no public rate on this site. Area, access, base condition, and thickness change the number.

Why choose Elite for Asphalt Resurfacing Sydney?

A resurface only lasts as long as the base and the prep under it. Most of the job is done before the truck turns up: sweeping, repairing soft spots, and a tack coat so the new layer bonds to the old one. Skip that and the edges lift and the cracks come back through.

Tight sites are normal in Sydney. Walled car parks, narrow apartment driveways, and sandstone edges mean a skid steer and an asphalt box, and edges laid and compacted by hand. We look at the street and the access before we send a number, so the plant and the trucks actually fit.

See a hot mix resurface we finished

The Dover Heights apartment car park was resurfaced with hot mix and line marked in the same booking: parking bays, two accessible spaces, and a hatched no-parking zone. Car park line marking and stormwater also sit on our civil work.

Asphalt Resurfacing FAQs

What is asphalt resurfacing?

A new hot mix wearing course laid over an existing pavement that still has a sound base. The old surface is prepped and tack coated so the new layer bonds to it.

When is resurfacing the wrong job?

When the base has failed. Deep ruts, soft spots, and pavement that moves underfoot need the base rebuilt first. We look before we quote and tell you which job it is.

How long before cars can use a new asphalt surface?

Usually around a day, once the surface has cooled. Line marking goes down after that on the clean, cold surface.

Can you resurface a tight apartment car park or driveway?

Yes. Our Dover Heights car park was a walled, narrow site. A skid steer fed the asphalt box and the edges were laid and compacted by hand against the sandstone.

Do you do the line marking as well?

Yes. Bays, accessible spaces, arrows, and hatched zones go down after the resurface, in the same booking.

Do you publish a price per square metre?

No. Area, access, base repairs, and thickness all change the job. We inspect, then we quote. Call 0487 549 909.
